• When submitting artwork for an embosser:
  Keep the following guidelines in mind
  • Render the image as a simple line drawing if possible.
  • These embossers cannot be made with multi-level impressions, the black parts of the artwork will be the raised parts of the embossing and the white parts of the artwork will remain flat.
  • If the design has any large, continuous black (raised) areas, try to minimize them as much as possible. A large raised area in the die will put a lot of stress on the paper being embossed and is more likely to result in a tear.
  • This product is designed to emboss on 20 lb paper. When a stock heavier than 20 lb paper is embossed, you may damage the seal and mechanism and the impression may not be as sharp, so lines spaced closely together in the design (such as some script lettering styles) may be rendered as a single line. Also fine lines will not be as thin on heavier paper.

Any further questions that you may have would require us to go to the manufacturer for answers. For best service, please provide the following

1. any questions not answered here or on the above page, please provide in writing via e-mail or fax, we will obtain the most timely response from the manufacturer and forward you the information
2. fax a copy of the design to be embossed to 1.732.528.1914 for custom quoting of die
3. be aware that electric embossers take approx 2-8 weeks to produce and ship from the manufacturer
4. we do not service the machine, all requests must be made directly by you to the manufacturer
5. Sand Scripts does not warranty the machine. There is a limited warranty extended from the manufacturer.
6. Regarding Government and Academic Institution Embossers As it is Sand Scripts' responsibility to safeguard against the creation of fraudulent embossers - the following are to be received to consider fulfilling your order
   • 1) Artwork must be submitted via postal mail to Sand Script's Post Office Box address along with a signed Authorization to Reproduce Form
   • 2) Order must be submitted via mail on original business or state letterhead signed by two principals of the organization.  Follow up phone calls to these official representatives as well as other representatives will be made by Sand Scripts to authenticate your order.
   • 3) An original purchase order must accompany the order along with payment via a corporate credit card or official business check.  No personal checks or money orders will be accepted.
   • 4) Product(s) must ship to the physical address of the institution the product represents.
   • We do accept purchase orders for this product. See details under "Business/Institutions" on our FAQ pages.

   No documents will be returned. Your original e-mail, order and further correspondence will be kept on file and submitted to authorities if necessary.

Sand Scripts' Artwork Guidelines

• Ready to print electronic submissions (via e-mail attachment or disk):
  • Sand Scripts accepts both PC and Mac platform artwork.
  • Send artwork to Sand Scripts via disk or e-mail attachment (to artwork@sandscripts.com) in the following formats: Adobe Illustrator (version 8.0 or earlier), Adobe Photoshop (version 5.0 or earlier), TIFF (*.tif), GIF (*.gif), JPEG (*.jpg), Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) or Corel Draw v.6.0 . Please DO NOT e-mail files encoded in the message body, DO NOT use inline attachments and DO NOT send *.doc files. Scanned or Electronic letterhead is not acceptable.
  • Please compress files larger than 1 MB or multi-part submissions with WinZip (*.zip) or Aladdin Stuff-It.
  • Make sure to include all necessary Adobe Type1 screen and printer font files with your submission or convert all text to curves when exporting files from your graphics application. Do not e-mail True-Type font files or use True-Type text that has not been converted to curves.
  • Make all artwork actual size at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Some products and processes may require 600 dpi artwork. If artwork is not provided actual size, artwork charges may apply. Regardless, be sure to clearly indicate desired size on your order form. If size is not clearly indicated, artwork will be sized to fit maximum usable area.
  • One color imprint artwork must be rendered as black on white background. Do not submit greyscale, RGB or CMYK bitmaps. Please e-mail for details on multi color imprint and color separation requirements.
  • When e-mailing artwork name your files with your last name or your company name. If you received an e-mail confirmation prior to sending your art, use the order confirmation number. Please do not use general names such as "logo" or "embosser" or "invitation" or "artwork" or "order".
  • Disks accepted: 3.5" floppy, CD-ROM or 100MB Zip Disks, Mac or PC format.
  • Send a sample of an existing layout to us by · postal mail or fax 1.732.528.1914. We must have a printout of the design to insure the file(s) have not been corrupted.
  • Duplication of copyrighted logos, photographs and materials requires an "Authorization to Reproduce" signed by the copyright owner or designated agent. Please supply documentation when submitting your order.

Paste-up or Existing Copy submissions (via postal mail or courier):

• Provide clear, black and white camera ready art (clean black and white artwork minimum resolution 300 dots per inch, printed by laser or ink jet printer on bright white smooth paper - no photocopies, no greyscale/halftones, no color ink) or existing piece (in the format described).
• If sending artwork containing signatures, use black pen only.
• Duplication of copyrighted logos, photographs and materials requires an "Authorization to Reproduce Artwork and Photographs Form" signed by the copyright owner or designated agent. Please supply documentation when submitting your order.
• Authorization to Reproduce Artwork and Photographs Form
• $45.00/hour artwork retouching fee, if necessary

All Embossers and Rubber Stamps are non-refundable, non-returnable, non-exchangeable.
In the event of a typesetting error, a replacement die will be shipped, all claims must be made within 7 days of receipt of product.

All embossers are designed to work on 20lb paper.  Paper of heavier weights will result in damaging the embosser as well as result in a blurred image. All information needed to order including full pricing is located on this page, custom quoting is only required for custom dies. Embosser sizes and types available are all listed, links to pictures of the products available. 
We do not guarantee the fit of any dies or parts ordered by themselves to fit in existing machines. Electric embossers are not sold without dies. Additional dies can be sold individually at time of purchase of a complete unit or at a later date to use with the original unit purchased from Sand Scripts.

Please keep in mind that an embosser is used to created a raised impression on paper, it will not ink or colorize the paper. If you are looking for a device to make a ink impression, please consider a rubber stamp. We do not carry hot foil stampers which are also frequently used to foil stamp images. Hot foil stampers range in the thousands of dollars and are a commercial product.
